Colin
Colin is a cute, well-loved Chad Valley Cubby bear, c.1930s, with a photograph thought to be of himself with his original owners. He's 11 inches tall in his fixed seated position, and has jointed arms and head.
His nose and mouth are original, and someone has given him a pair of shoebutton eyes. He has old recovered fabric pads, which are very worn, and one paw is showing his stuffing, which is a type of very finely-shredded woodwool. Both ears have been crudely re-attached, and he doesn't have much mohair left.
He looks to have been wearing his clothes all his life, as they're equally well-worn and, although not actually sewn to him, they're such a close fit we haven't dared try and remove them as they're rather fragile. But, Colin feels to be in reasonable shape beneath his clothes, and is a really lovable cub with bags of character. His name is Gaelic for 'the young child'.
