Find large 1940s Chad Valley teddy bear at Old Bears Network

Dora is a lovable, large Chad Valley teddy bear c.1940s, with a happy beaming grin, and faded sideseam label. She's 27 inches tall, and from a Private Collection.

All original, with amber glass eyes and a black-stitched nose and mouth, Dora is fully-jointed and filled with woodwool. Her rexine pads are surface-worn, but in reasonable condition, and she's kept about 65% of her gold mohair, which is slightly more faded on her face. Her limbs are a bit loose so she flops about, but they're secure.

Wearing her beautiful 1940s crepe de chine dress (which we should have ironed before taking her photos!!), vintage brooch and straw hat, she's a lovely old bear with a huge amount of charm.
